Today we were given a task by our MBA Professor to go to the Pune city and earn a living for the day. And I realize it was not so easy a job.We chose Tilak Road in Pune as our destination for job hunting. Since we were told not to spend a single penny, we had to hitch a hike to reach our destination. It was very kind of a family of four to give us a lift in their car, as they were to travel via a road close to Tilak Road. After taking directions from a policeman, we walked few meters to reach our destination. We first went to a sweet shop to offer our labors but found no luck. We approached a Printing shop. The man very keenly started showing us how to print designs and was quite amused to know that we are MBA students. However, unfortunately he turned to be negative when we asked if he could offer us wages.We went to a AC grocery shop, The lady there was ready to offer us a job had there been customers . We approached all kinds shops starting from homeopathic shops to computer centres to garments shops to restaurants but with no luck. Finally got a job in an electronics show room but my partner could not be accommodated, so had to abandon the job. It was 3:15 pm and we were losing hope when got a job in a grocers shop. After packing salt packets,groundnuts and seiving flour we managed to earn Rs 20 for an hours job.Then it was time to go back to the Parvati temple. Rode on an open matador and a mini truck to reach there.Climbed the steep stairs of the temple,and reached by 5:00 pm.Though the exercise was physically exhausting , it was a great experience and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
